The Jewish Parliamentary Party in Roumania has published an official statement, in which it says:
The Presidium and the Parliamentary fraction of the Jewish Party discussed at their last meeting the attitude which the Jewish Deputies should take up in the new Parliamentary session towards the Government. It was placed on record that the Government has up to the present completely failed to take into account the wishes of the Jewish ethnic minority of the country, and has in no way shown any intention to consider the minimum Jewish demands submitted by the Jewish Party in the course of the debate on the speech from the throne.
Above all, the statement proceeds, the Jewish party has seen with a great deal of bitterness with what indifference the Government has treated the old and painful problem of citizenship, a problem which has arisen because of the shortcomings of the 1924 Law relating to the acquisition and loss of Roumanian citizenship.
In view of these facts, the statement concludes, it has been decided that the Deputies of the Jewish Party are to take up an attitude of determined opposition to the present Government.
