Following a protest by the Jewish settlers of Rehovoth and the Hebrew press of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Polish troops of Gen. Wladislaw Anders’ Second Army Corps were today transferred from Rehovoth to Jaffa and other Arab centers. Polish soldiers were responsible for two murders in Rehovoth within the past few days.
The funeral of Moshe Monobla, 21-year-old Jewish soldier killed by a Polish officer, was turned into a huge demonstration against the anti-Semitic behavior of Polish soldiers at Rehovoth. Participants carried banners reading: “Free Palestine from Anders’ troops.”
