The Central Committee of the Organization of Jewish Refugees in Italy will not be liquidated next month as was announced earlier, Zvi Lewit, acting chairman of the Organization, said here today.
Mr. Lewit pointed out that there are still 6,000 displaced Jews in Italy and emphasized that his group is the only body capable of representing them. He added that the Organization will continue its functions even if the Joint Distribution Committee curtails its support at the end of this month.
