Jewish community welfare plans and programs will be discussed at the 54th annual four-day meeting of the National Conference of Jewish Communal Service which opens here this week-end. Social workers, Jewish center workers and Jewish educators from more than 300 communities throughout the country will attend the sessions.
Three general sessions will be devoted to discussions of Jewish communal development in the United States, the role of the social worker in the Jewish community, and Jewish communal responsibilities in the light of current national trends. Other sessions will be devoted to family welfare, child care, community organization, group work, vocational services, medical and health services, programs for the aged and community relations.
The annual meeting of the NCJCS serves as a forum for the discussion and examination of projects and programs that help strengthen communal services in all parts of the country throughout the year in response to changing problems and needs and improved professional know-how.
