The Jewish State Theatre of Poland opened a three-week engagement here tonight with the presentation of “Meir Ezofowicz,” a drama of Jewish emancipation in Poland in the 19th century. The troupe will also present Jacob Godrin’s “Mirele Efros” and an adaptation of Sholem Aleichem’s “Tevye der Milichige.”
After the premiere, the company was honored at a reception given by the British Section of the World Jewish Congress. Present at the reception were leaders of the British Jewish community, Polish diplomats and Israel Ambassador Eliahu Elath.
