An Algerian mob in the city of Oran sacked Jewish shops this week-end in an anti-French demonstration that quickly turned into an anti-Jewish manifestation, the newspaper Le Monde reported here today.
The dispatch said that the mob marched on the Grand Synagogue of Oran, breaking into and looting Jewish owned shops along the way. At least seven jewelry shops owned by Jews were plundered, Le Monde reported.
