K. W. Stead, Director of Customs, Excise and Trade Department, received representatives of various industries here on Sunday. N. Tischby, Assistant Director of the Zionist Department of Urban Colonization, acted as interpreter.
The manufacturers presented demands concerning the reduction of customs duties on some raw materials and increase of duties on some imported goods competing with Palestine productions. Mr. Stead promised to consider the demands most sympathetically.
