Jewish troops marched yesterday in Jewish Soldiers’ Day parades in Tel Aviv and Haifa as enthusiastic crowds thronged the sidewalks.
The parade in Tel Aviv. led by the Union Jack and blue-white Zionist flag, weaved through the main streets. David Ben Gurion, Moshe Shertok, Mayor Isaac Rokach and Government representatives took solutes and conveyed greetings to Jewish soldiers on all fronts. One of those who marched in the ranks was Rachel Weiberg of Jerusalem, whose two sons are serving in the British forces in Eritrea.
In Haifa, District Commissioner James H. H. Pollock, in uniform, took the salute.
