A widely advertised orthodox Jewish wedding ceremony which was scheduled to take place this evening at a Marathon dance here was cancelled due to the efforts of Rabbi Daniel L. Davis of Congregation Shaari Shomayime, who protested in behalf of the community against the profanation of a sacred ceremony.
The American Legion post No. 34, under whose auspices the marathon is being held, following the representations of Rabbi Davis, demanded the cancellation of the wedding and threatened the withdrawal of its auspices unless this was done.
