Associated Services for the Armed Forces, a new national organization to provide for the religious, welfare, morale and recreational needs of members of the armed forces, has been jointly formed by the National Jewish Welfare Board, the Young Men’s Christian Association and the National Military Establishment, it was announced here by Louis J. Johnson, Secretary of Defense.
The three organizations that have united to establish ASAF have traditionally been engaged in service to the armed forces and previously worked together for nine years as operating agencies of the now deactivated United Service Organizations.
