The creation of a Women’s Auxiliary Corps in Palestine was foreshadowed here today in Commons by an announcement made by Duncan Sandys, financial secretary of the War Office. The British official said that the War Office is now considering the formation of a Palestine Women’s Auxiliary Force, and that the final decision will be reached soon.
Meanwhile a report was received here today from Tel Aviv stating that the Jewish youth of Palestine was called upon “to volunteers and fill the ranks” in a resolution passed at the Jewish Volunteers Conference now taking place in Palestine. The resolution read: “With Jewish communities in flames, and with the honor of our nation being trampled, our hopes envision tens of thousands of Palestine volunteers.”
A message urging the Jews of other countries to be “courageous,” was also adopted by the conference. “We will fight your war and carry your banners high. When the day of victory comes, we will continue to build our life and fight for our full liberation,” the message said.
