A play contest has been announced by Mrs. A. S. Kohler of Savannah, Georgia, National Chairman of the Department of Religion and Religious Education of the National Council of Jewish Women, to close on May 1st, with a first prize of $50, and a prize of $25, for the second best play. Honorable mention will be awarded to five plays that in the estimation of the judges are deserving of recognition.
The plays which are to be submitted to Mrs. Isaac Born, Chairman of the Paly Contest Committee, 3055 North Meridian Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, are to deal with a theme of Jewish interest and in a form that will permit its presentation on the programs of the Council Sections. This contest is open only to members of the National Council of Jewish Women. The judges are Mrs. George Goldsmith of Los Angeles, Mrs. Sara Messing Stern of Terra Haute, National Directors of the National Council of Jewish Women, and Mrs. I. Rosenthal of Omaha, President of the Iocal Council Section.
