That it is the duty of Jewish mothers to provide new leaders to interpret the values of our faith to each new generation was stressed by Mrs. Samuel G. Schwartz, president of the Federation of Women’s Synagogue Organizations; at the annual meeting, held here. In presenting her annual report, Mrs. Schwartz urged the members to give the youth groups their cooperation, to take interest in their activities and to share with them some of the problems of the synagogue.
Pointing out that the Federation was a clearing house for Sisterhood ideas, the president reported that a meeting had been held for the express purpose of hearing from Sisterhood presidents on programs, especially those which entailed little or no cost. Particular attention was given to the Peace program, Mrs. Eugene Springer, chairman of the Committee on peace reporting that resolutions had been sent to national, state and city officials, peace programs had been supplied to a number of Sisterhoods, members had attended a series of lectures under the auspices of the Women’s International League, and signatures had been secured to petitions sent out by the League of Nations Associations.
Other activities were also reported on for the past year.
