Jewish workers in Palestine will observe May Day tomorrow by remaining at work and contributing the day’s pay to the Soldiers’ Fund and to the Refugee Relief Fund, it was announced here today by the Histadruth, the Palestine Federation of Labor.
The Small Zionist Actions Committee today concluded a two-day session after hearing a report on the political activities being conducted by members of the executive of the Jewish Agency in Washington, London and Jerusalem. The Committee adopted a resolution emphasizing that “the present hour demands the utmost efforts for strengthening the Yishuv in the face of imminent perils.” Another resolution empowers the Jewish Agency, in cooperation with the Jewish National Council of Palestine, to prepare extensive plans for enlistment, security and fund-raising “in accordance with the demands of the present hour.”
