Jewish World Migrations of Decade on Agenda of Jewish Social Service Conference

Jewish world migrations during the last decade will be analyzed by speakers at the National Conference of Jewish Social Service which is to hold its annual sessions at Boston from June 7 to 11 with social workers from more than forty states and Canada attending.

Professor Nathan Isaacs of Harvard University will preside at the session on this subject and the speakers will be Dr. Harry S. Linfield of New York, director of the statistical department of the American Jewish Committee; Dr. Alexander M. Dushkin, director of the Bureau of Jewish Education of Chicago; Cecilia Razovsky of New York, secretary of the department of Immigrant Aid of the National Council of Jewish Women; and Isidore Hershfield of Washington, D. C., counsel of the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society of America.

Dr. Linfield will discuss post-war changes in the migration of Jews with special reference to European countries. Dr. Dushkin will consider migrations to Palestine in his address; Miss Razovsky’s subject will take into account Jewish population migration to Latin America and South Africa and Mr. Hershfield will analyze the drift of Jewish population to the United States and will discuss problems resulting from the present immigration laws.
