Jewish Youth Wounded by Arab Terrorist in Continuing Disorders

A THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD JEWISH BOY WAS WOUNDED IN HAIFA TODAY BY AN ARAB MAKING A GETAWAY AFTER THROWING A BOMB. THE BOMB WAS HURLED IN HECHALUTZ STREET, CROWDED WITH JEWS, BUT CAUSED NO CASUALTIES. A CROWD GAVE CHASE AND THE ARAB FIRED TWICE, WOUNDING THE BOY.

POLICE PURSUED THE ASSAILANT, BUT HE ESCAPED. THE WOUNDED BOY IS ELIMELECH GRUMMET. HE WAS REPORTED IN GRAVE CONDITION AFTER AN OPERATION AT HADASSAH HOSPITAL.

THE TENTH ARAB TO BE SENTENCED FOR CARRYING ARMS WAS GIVEN A SEVEN-YEAR PRISON TERM TODAY BY THE MILITARY COURT AT NAZARETH FOR POSSESSION OF FIVE ROUNDS OF RIFLE AMMUNITION. HE IS SHIHADA DERVISH OF BEISAN.

MEANWHILE, THE GOVERNMENT CALLED A MEETING OF MUKHTARS (NATIVE VILLAGE CHIEFS) IN THE JENIN DISTRICT WHICH WILL BE ADDRESSED BY THE ASSISTANT DISTRICT COMMISSIONER IN ATTEMPT TO FIND A MEANS TO PACIFY THE REGION.

BRITISH TROOPS DYNAMITED TWO ARAB HOUSES NEAR AFULEH IN REPRISAL FOR THE REMOVAL OF RAILWAY TRACKS. TWENTY-TWO TELEPHONE WIRES WERE CUT BETWEEN JAFFA AND LYDDA.
