Leon Degrelle, Belgian Fascist leader who is paying his first visit to England, told the London Daily Telegraph today that the Jews “present a problem.” Asked what his party’s attitude to Jews would be if the Rexists attain power in Belgium, Degrelle said:
“The party is fundamentally not anti-Semitic. Until a year ago there was no Jewish problem. Lately, however, alarmed by the flood of foreign Jews into Belgium, we have been forced to adopt a more positive attitude. They present a problem and must be prepared to submit themselves to the law of a Nationalist State.”
