Max Seligman, an Israeli attorney, said today that he was negotiating with the British Government for a settlement of claims for compensation of Jews and Arabs who lost career posts in the British Mandatory regime, when Britain gave up the Mandate in 1948.

Mr. Seligman added that these claims were separate from the overall talks between Israel and Britain for a final settlement of financial claims arising from liquidation of the Mandate. He said his Jewish and Arab clients were about evenly divided in number.
