A delegation of Moroccan Jews today had an audience with the Sultan of Morocco and asked him to appoint the Jewish member of the Cabinet for whom the post of Ministry of Posts and Telegraphs has been left open. The delegation assured the Sultan that whomever he chooses will be acceptable to all the Jews of Morocco.
The split which developed in the ranks of Moroccan Jewry over who shall be named as the Jewish member of the Cabinet leaves no other possibility except to put the decision in the hands of the Sultan, it was pointed out here. The Jewish member of the government, although he will hold the post of Minister of Posts and Telegraphs, will actually represent the interests of the approximately 300,000 Jews now living in Morocco.
