Conflict of Two Parties Has Anti-Semitic Background (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
The fight between the Austrian Social Democrats and the Christlich Soziale, which has an anti-Semitic background, was transferred yesterday to parliament.
An anti-Semitic debate developed in parliament when the Social Democrats charged the Christlich Soziale with selling Austrian land to Czech Jews who, they asserted, are instrumental in imposing a Czech character on the border territory of lower Austria.
The speaker of the house, who belongs to the Christlich Soziale party, protested against the use by the Social Democrats of the derogatory term, “gesindel” in relation to Jewish land owners in Austria.
