Two national Jewish organizations have condemned recent attacks on Arab Americans in several U.S. cities, which have apparently been spurred by the U.S. confrontation with Iraq in the Persian Gulf.
A statement adopted by the executive committee of the National Jewish Community Relations Advisory Council said: “We must not allow strong feelings engendered by the current crisis in the Persian Gulf to generate intimidation of those Americans who are of Arab descent.”
The Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith decried violent attacks on Arab Americans as “unacceptable manifestations of bigotry.”
