That the Palestinian Jews are endeavoring to bribe King Hussein, the newly proclaimed Caliph, in order to make him accept the Jewish National Home in Palestine as the basis for an understanding between the Jewish and Arab population of Palestine, is the charge of Lord Raglan, a former political officer in the Palestinian administration. This charge appeared yesterday in the anti-Zionist London Daily Express.
He also charges the Zionists with deliberating fomenting trouble in district of Transjordania for the purpose of distracting the attention of the Transjordanian population from the Palestinian problem.
Lord Raglan displays also very little regard for the present administration of Transjordania. Emir Abdullah, he says, is a tyrannical
and extravagant ruler and his administration is extremely inefficient and unpopular. Members of the Transjordanian Government are ruffians, and are oppressing the population to such an extent that a revolutionary outbreak may be expected.
The statement of Lord Raglan ends with censure for the British Government for maintaining in Transjordania so corrupt and chaotic a state of affairs.
