A suggestion that Jews serving in the Lebanese Army should not be given access to military documents was made in the Lebanese Parliament by Socialist deputy Emil Boustany, it was reported here today from Beirut, capital of Lebanon.
Mr. Boustany told the Parliament that a Jew of Russian origin was serving as commander of an artillery unit and that a Greek Jew was head of the Army’s medical board. Replying to the deputy’s suggestion. the Foreign Minister said that the question should not have been raised publicly as it affected the “dignity of the Army.” the report said.
