Leaders of the Jewish community here were assured today that the share of Jews in Austria of funds to be paid by the Austrian Government as compensation for Jewish losses under the Nazi regime will not be smaller than the share received by Austrian Jews living abroad.
This assurance was given at a plenary session of the Vienna Jewish Community by Dr. Nehemiah Robinson, representative of the Jewish Claims Committee on Austria, which conducted the reparations negotiations with the Austrian Government. His statement was made to offset rumors among Jews in Austria that the Claims Committee would favor the Austrian Jews living abroad at the expense of the surviving Jews in Austria.
