Implementing its decision to change the emphasis of its program in Hungary from relief to reconstruction, the Joint Distribution Committee, in cooperation with the Jewish community, this week established two credit cooperatives, it was reported at a press conference here by Noel Aronovici, J.D.C. representative.
A recently-established Reconstruction Advisory Committee, composed of J.D.C. representatives and community leaders, this week-end mapped plans for the creation of a series of producer cooperatives as the best means of aiding Jews who have still ?t found their place in the economic set-up and to fit in best with the country’s three-year plan. Aronovici stated that the plan has the approval of Zoltan Vas, general secretary of the powerful Supreme Economic Council.
