Mass demonstrations took place today throughout Italy and all Jews in the country observed a day of fast in protest against the British attacks upon the Jewish Agency and the Palestine Jewish community.
In Rome, a meeting was held at the Arch of Titus, which was erected by the ancient Romans to commemorate their capture and destruction of Jerusalem. The meetings were sponsored by the Union of Jewish Communities in Italy, the Organization of Jewish Refugees, and the Zionist Federation of Italy.
