A report reaching here today from Poland says that the Jewish community of Lodz finds it necessary “to carry on a struggle” to guard its privileges in regard to Jewish cultural matters, and must do all in its power “to uncover all evidences of anti-Semitism.”
The report quotes leaders of the Jewish community of Lodz to this effect. Published in Die Folkshtimme, the only Jewish newspaper in Poland, the report says that at a meeting of the Jewish Cultural Association in Lodz, leading members of the Association called for “fewer words and more action” in defending Jewish interests.
The leaders also demanded that more aid be given to Jews repatriated from the Soviet Union and that the Jewish community should concern itself with the needs of the religious Jews, Jewish education and the care of aged Jews.
