Jews in Poland are told that the aid which they have begun to receive from the Joint Distribution Committee and ORT is coming “from the Jewish masses abroad.” Polish newspapers reaching here today from Warsaw emphasize that the aid must be used for constructive relief purposes only, and “in accordance with the decisions of Jewish bodies within Poland.”

The newspapers report that cooperative handicraft shops established by Jews who returned to Poland from the Soviet Union are among the first listed to receive assistance, since they need funds to buy raw materials. They stress that the central relief committee formed in Poland “strives to give maximum support to such cooperative enterprises.”
