Every child in Saxony will henceforth be allowed to attend school in a manner consistent with the tenets of his religion, according to pronouncement by the new Prime Minister, whose predecessor, M. Zeigner, had ordered that no religion was to be taught in Saxon schools, no prayers recited, no holidays kept and that Jewish children should be forced to attend school on Saturdays without being excused from writing. No exceptions were to be granted for Yom Kippur or other High Holy Days.
