Speaking on “The Hand of God in Art” at a meeting Friday afternoon of the American Society of Biblical Literature and Exegesis at the Union Theological Seminary Dr. Paul Romanoff, curator of the museum of the Jewish Theological Seminary, said the Christians took many of their symbols from ancient Jewish art.
Other speakers were Dr. Nelson Glueck of the Hebrew Union College, who reported on research carried on in Edom in Southern Palestine, and Dr. J. A. Kelso, professor at the Western Theological Seminary, who spoke on the subject: “The Excavations of Beth El.”
