It may be necessary to organize a Jewish self-defence corps to protect the Jews of Roumania from the wave of anti-Semitic attacks now sweeping over the country, the Maniu government was warned today in Parliament by M. Rosenberg, a Jewish member of the government party, during the interpellations on the anti-Semitic disturbances.

The Czernowitz papers report that the troubles are spreading rapidly from town to town. Only the intervention of the military forces put an end to a disturbance in the main street of Jassy when Jews were maltreated and the police were helpless to cope with the situation.

A delegation from the Jewish community of Jassy will be sent to the state attorney following a meeting of protest against the arrest of the Targufromos Jews accused of being participants in the Targufromos clash with Cuzists. Speakers at the meeting pointed out that among those arrested were some who were not in town at the time of the incident and others who were not at all present.
