Chicago Jewry was today preparing a protest and plans for the gathering of relief funds if needed for the aid of Palestinian Jews. Formation of the committee was decided upon at a series of meetings last evening, the largest of which was called by the Chicago Rabbinate and the organization of Orthodox Jews, meeting in the Hebrew Theological College. The committee is composed of five members from the Zionist organization, and a similar number from the Rabbinate, the Kehillah and other organizations active in Palestine work.
A mass meeting of all Chicago Jews, possibily simultaneously with mass meetings in other cities are planned.
At the homes of the Chicago boys, Jacob Wexler and David Epstein, students killed in Hebron, week of mourning has begun. The sympathy of the whole Jewish community was extended to the bereaved families of Rabbi Ephraim Epstein and the Wexler family.
