The All-Polish Conference of Jewish Communities, called to decide the most fitting way to perpetuate the memory of Marshal Pilsudski, concluded today with a decision to create two memorial foundations in Pilsudski’s name, one of which is to be in Poland and the other in Palestine.
A central committee consisting of 130 members was elected by the conference. This committee is to appoint an executive from its own ranks to carry out the decision of the conference.
The representatives of the Zionist Central Committee in Poland announced that they will not participate in the Pilsudski memorial committee unless the funds raised by the foundation for Palestine are spent through the Jewish National Fund for planting a Pilsudski forest.
The Agudath Israel firmly opposed the spending of the money through the Jewish National Fund.
Zionist groups which are not represented in the Zionist Central Committee declare that they will participate in the Pilsudski Memorial Committee
