All Jews, foreign and German alike, will be subject to new rigid “Jim Crow” regulations issued today regarding health resorts. It was the first time that official anti-Semitic measures affected foreign as well as native Jews. Only Jews enjoying extraterritorial rights, as diplomatic or consular officials, for example, were exempted.
Jews will be permitted to go to such resorts only upon presentation of a doctor’s certificate signed by a Jewish doctor and approved by the health office. At these establishments “non-Aryans” are to be housed in separate pensions and hotels which may not employ feminine domestic help under 45. Use of thermal apparatus and baths will be permitted but only at certain hours. Jews may not frequent public gardens, beaches, restaurants, lecture halls or concerts.
