The Jewish National Fund is reclaiming 1200 drams of land for homes and farming for the settlement of Eliad, on the Golan Heights. The settlement is named for Eli Cohen, the Israeli agent executed 10 years ago in Damascus, who was considered one of the main contributors of intelligence which led to the Israeli victory in the Six-Day War. The village was formerly called El Al.
