John M. Schiff, 33-year-old son of the late Mortimer L. Schiff, has been elected to the Council of New York University. He is the youngest member of the Council and one of the youngest trustees of a university in the country. Mr. Schiff, a partner in the banking firm of Kuhn, Loeb and Co., is the grandson of the late Jacob H. Schiff.
