Johnson Names Eugene Rostow to Post of Undersecretary of State

President Johnson announced today the appointment of Eugene V. Rostow, Dean of the Yale University Law School, as Undersecretary of State.

The Brooklyn-born educator and economist, who is listed in Who’s Who in World Jewry, has held a number of posts in the Federal Government, including a post as State Department advisor from 1942 to 1944 and consultant to the Undersecretary of State in 1961. He also has served as assistant to the executive secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
