Jonah J. Goldstein was elected president of the Zionist Organization of the New York Region at the second annual conference held Sunday afternoon in the community house of Temple Emanu-El.
Encouragement to keep alive the ideal of Zionism and to forward the work of the organization by strengthening the district units in relation to the regional groups, was voiced by Louis Lipsky, president of the Zionist Organization of America, and by Leo Wolfsohn, retiring president of the New York Zionist Region.
Mr. Lipsky urged that the individual members of the organization keep alive the ideals of “Palestine for the Jews,” while Mr. Wolfsohn spoke with some regret of an apparent lack of enthusiasm among the members in the attendance of meetings.
