Jonathan Pollard complained that Israel is not doing enough to secure his release from an American prison. “If the Israeli government acted with proper diligence, I would have been freed already,” Pollard wrote to Israel’s labor minister, Eliyahu Yishai, in a letter subsequently made public. The former U.S. Navy intelligence analyst has been serving a life sentence since 1987 after he admitted to spying for Israel.
