Jordan’s King Abdullah began his first official state visit to Israel by meeting with Prime Minister Ehud Barak at the Red Sea resort of Eilat. Abdullah, who was accompanied by his Palestinian wife, urged Barak to seek a land-for-peace solution with the Palestinians.
