Jordan’s King Abdullah said time is running out for an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal. Abdullah said Monday that, given Hamas’ victory in Palestinian Authority elections and Israel’s construction of the West Bank security fence, “we are physically running out of time.” During a visit to Paris, Abdullah said, “I don’t think we have more than two years if we’re all talking about a viable, independent Palestinian state.” He said failure to clinch an accord by 2008 could mean a decade or more of further fighting. “I think that would be the crime of the century,” Abdullah said.
