Josef Kramer, the “Beast of Belsen,” was found guilty this afternoon by a British military court here of charges of torture of mess murder of Jews and others at the Belsen and Oswiecim concentration camps.
Thirty others were convicted, including Dr. Fritz Klein, Rumanian doctor who used prisoners as guinea pigs in a variety of inhuman experiments, and Irma (##), chief woman guard at Belsen. Fourteen of the defendats were acquitted.
The court announced that sentences will be imposed tomorrow afternoon, making the final chapter in the nine-weeks-old trial, the length of which has been the subject of considerable criticism in Allied countries and even in liberal German circles.
