Funeral services were held here today for Joshua Gelbiarb Giladi, a well known Hebrew-Yiddish author, editor and educator, who died this weekend. He was 59.
Mr. Gelbfarb, who used “Giladi” as his pen name, was born in Poland, where he became a journalist and writer on education. He subsequently emigrated to Canada where he taught and wrote for the “Canadian Eagle” in Montreal. He also edited the monthly “Kinderland” in Havana, Cuba. In New York, Mr. Gelbfarb served on the Ramaz Yeshiva faculty.
