The Jewish Telegraphic Agency will tomorrow institute an innovation in its international wire service by using the transmission facilities of Reuters to send news overseas and to receive news from its bureaus and correspondents throughout the world “when the news happens as it happens,” it was announced today by JTA President William M Landau.
Under the present system the JTA can receive and transmit news internationally at certain times during the day. Under the new system, news will be available on a 24-hour basis “What this means to our readers and subscribers is that they will receive the news efficiently and speedily, on par with the major international news agencies,” Landau said. “This development is in line with JTA’s continuing efforts to provide the world-wide Jewish communities with news of vital importance to them.”
