JTA won three first-place awards from the American Jewish Press Association for 2007 coverage.
Overall, JTA picked up four prizes in the AJPA’s annual Simon Rockower Award competition.
JTA took first and second in the investigative journalism category. First prize was awarded to Yosef Abramowitz’s series “A Troubled Exodus,” on the migration of Sudanese refugees to Israel. Second place went to Eugene Meyer and Richard Greenberg for their series on sexual abuse in the rabbinate, “Reining in Abuse.”
Staff photographer Brian Hendler won first prize in the photography category for “Remembering Rabin.”
