Provost Louis Finkelstein of the Jewish Theological Seminary yesterday told 200 ministers at a luncheon closing the Seminary’s Institute of Interdenominational Studies that not only does the Christian Church owe much to Judaism, but Judaism is greatly indebted to the Church. He said that a great part of ancient Jewish literature had been preserved in the Church and the challenge of the Church and the Mosque had brought into existence Jewish philosophy. Prof. Erwin R. Goodenough of Yale University presided.
