The appointment of Judge Louis E. Levinthal of this city as president of Gratz College was announced here by Abraham L. Freedman, president of the Federation of Jewish Agencies of Philadelphia. Judge Levinthal succeeds Dr. Maurice Jacobs, who held the post for three years.
In a series of other actions on the college, the Federation named a new board of trustees and instructed it to extend and intensify teacher training for prospective Jewish educators. The Federation decided to press ahead with plans for acquisition of a new site for the college, which is currently housed in temporary quarters at Congregation Rodeph Shalom.
