The decision in the petition asking for an interlocutory injunction restraining the Goglu publications from attacks upon the Jews, due to be handed down today by Justice Desaulniers, will not be handed down until next week, it was announced yesterday.
On July 15, Judge Desaulniers heard the petition of E. Abugnov, a Jewish merchant of Lachine, asking for the injunction against Joseph Menard, owner of three anti-Semitic Goglu publications.
The petition was drawn up following a series of virulent attacks upon the Jews.
At the first hearing the Judge characterized the attacks as anti-Christian, anti-social and anti-national.
Special instructions were issued yesterday by Fernard Dufresne, police director, for surveillance to be kept on young sympathizers of the Goglus, who have been posting anti-Semitic stickers on windows of Jewish places of business and homes.
The Police Director ordered arrests to be made if such offenders proved intractable.
