The National Jewish Welfare Board will need substantially increased allocations from community fund-raising bodies throughout the nation, the annual meeting of the JWB’s fund-raising division was told this weekend by Solomon Litt, chairman of its budget and finance committee. He said bigger grants are needed “to meet adequately the demands of the Military Establishment for greater religious, morale and welfare services to Jews in the Armed Forces and in Veterans Administration hospitals and the mounting requests for help from Jewish Community Centers which are expanding their facilities, programs and staffs at a record-breaking pace.”
