Eleven thousand dollars was raised at a banquet launching the drive for Wimington’s (Del) quota of $25,000 in the United Palestine Appeal Two hundred members of the Jewish community amended the banquet.
Charles Topkis was chosen chairman of the drive. David Snellemburg. Rabbi Louis Mishkind, Rabbi Ralph Hershon, Nathan Miller, Abraham Yarms, vice-chairmen; Max Cohen, treasurer and Meyer Margoline, secretary.
Dr. George E. Vincent. President of the Rocketeller Foundation, and Mayor Walker will be the speakers Sunday at the annual meeting of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, Temple Emanu-El. Fifth Avenue and 43rd Street. New York City. Joseph L. Butten wieser, President of the federation. will present his annual report. Felix M. Warberg is Chairman of the board and Solomon Loaenstein is Executive Director.
Sidney Lansbergh was elected president of the Associated Jewish Charities of Baltimore, Md. Other officers chosen were Emil Crockin, first vice-president; Walter Sondheim, second vice-president; Jesse Benesch, treasurer, and Adolph Ginsberg, assistant treasurer.
Albert D. Hutzler, retiring president, was elected to the board to directors, Other directors elected were Jacob Epstein, Adolph Kres, L. F. Sackerman, M. E. Selenkour, Sol Silverman and Jacob Baustein.
